The ordinance was initially prompted mainly by one City of Pewaukee resident. The other two municipalities passed similar measures, they claim, for reasons of regulatory consistency.

The Association has made several efforts over the past six or seven years to encourage the development of a pier law that was clear, effective, workable, and fair to lake property owners.
