What You Can Expect to Find on the Site and Where You Can Find It
We invite you to take a few moments to tour the new PLIA website. You'll find up-to-date information on a broad range of issues important to lake home owners, water sports enthusiasts, fisherman, boaters, or anyone interested in lake living or Pewaukee Lake. Here's a brief overview of the different areas of the website:
- In the Navigation panel in the left sidebar you'll find links to the Home Page & General News section where we publish general PLIA information updates and general lake-related news items. There are also links to our Contact the PLIA, Membership Information pages and Commenting Guidelines area that provides information on adding your thoughts to many of our news journal articles.
- The Special Topic Areas section in the right sidebar offers links to news journals for topic areas that garner the most interest from PLIA members. The news journals include Lake Weeds & Invasive Species, Property Rights & Shoreland Zoning, Pier & Waterfront Issues, Boating & Other Watercraft and others.
- The Resources panel features links to the PLIA website search function, a useful tool to help you find items of particular interest to you anywhere on the site. The Related Links area offers links categorized into several sections including state government agencies and resources and the home pages for the state legislators for the Pewaukee Lake area. There are also links to other Pewaukee Lake associations and groups, weed treatment links, and boating resources. This resource section also includes links to live and downloadable lake maps, PLIA newsletter archives, survey archives, and a comprehensive aquatic plant management publication.
- For those who have an interest in one or more of the news journals featured on this site but who don't have time to keep checking back for updates, we offer the RSS news feed panel in the lower right corner of the page. You can link to as many of these feeds as you like and receive up-to-the-minute changes in these information sections. You can use news readers like the web-based Google Reader and Bloglines, the Mac OSX-based NetNewsWire, SharpReader for Windows environments, or Liferea for Linux operating systems to access and read these feeds.
In order to open and read some of the PDF formatted documents offered on this PLIA website you'll need a free PDF reader like Adobe Reader or Foxit Reader.
